French Pilot Site
Montaury District in Anglet
The French pilot site is in the Montaury district in Anglet, in the South West of France, the buildings under consideration for the pilot include:
- A Compagnons du Tour de France building trades training centre. This is in an energy positive building built in 2009 with a HQE (High Quality Environmental standard) Certification. It has 250m² of PV panels on the roof and is heated by a boiler fuelled by the waste wood produced by the centres activities.
- A research centre with a Low BBC energy label which houses a sustainable construction consultancy called NOBATEK a partner in the DRBOB project.
- A Business Incubator, due for completion in 2016, dedicated to sustainable and bio-construction start-ups. It will host offices, classrooms and workshops. This building will be HQE and BREAM certified with the aim of being energy positive.
- The college Lycée CANTAU campus, which consists of 17 buildings. Some 1420 students and around 80 staff work and study in the college buildings which house offices, technical labs, classrooms, and halls of residence etc.
